My Wrestling Figure Collection Part 1
WWF (Jakks) and WCW (Toybiz)

On this page I showcase and review all the up to date wrestling figures I own. I will mark them out of 10 with 5-6 being average, below 5 crap and 7 up recommended. Check back often because I have only recently began collecting and I'm getting new figures in quite often.

Edge - Signature Series 4
w/ Blue Display Base

This figure is solid and dependable but not amazingly exciting. The face likeness to Edge is pretty good and has plenty of detail, but the body should be a little taller and leaner in my opinion. All of the joints move very well and so far aren't too lose, like most Jakks figures it has a more rubbery feel in comparision to the plastic style of the WCW figures. Another plus point is that Edge is wearing the costume he wrestles in rather than street clothes which Jakks seem to be obssesed with.
The figure like all signature series models is lacking in any accessories other than the display base and it would be nicer if Jakks had gone to the trouble of including at least on weapon (even a plain old folding chair would have been cool).
Regardless Edge is still a good figure and it's great to see Jakks creating figures of the newer superstars rather than just churning out endless Austin's and Rock's.

D-Lo Brown - Breakdown Series
This figure is one of only two D-Lo Brown figures made so far. Although the figure re-uses the old Vader mould it's still quite good. The costume is well detailed and the face is very funny and a decent likeness, the body sadly just doesn’t look much like D-Lo's body at all, it's just too wide and fat. The legs and arms all moves well but do seem to get loose rather easily, another minor fault is that the figure has gloves on, but I've never and I mean never seen D-Lo wear gloves before.
The figure also comes with a cool Ghetto Blaster. All in all this is an okay figure. I still recommend you buy it since it’s the only D-Lo figure available and Jakks have yet to produce a TTL D-Lo figure. Hopefully Jakks will do a better job with the body of their next D-Lo figure.

Ken Shamrock - Signature Series 4
w/ Blue Display Base

Well this figure is okay and nothing more. It does the job fine but just doesn't stand out from the crowd in any way. Firstly the face likeness is pretty good and has that crazed expression that Shamrock often wears when he 'snaps', the body seems well proportioned and the whole figure feels solid. It's also painted well and their is great detail on Shamrock's shirt which say's "Ken Shamrock's Lion's Den" on it. I also have had no problems with any limbs being too lose which makes a change.
Inevitably there has to be a downside to this figure and the main ones are the serious lack of extras and the fact that Shamrock has now left the WWF. Would it be too much to ask for Jakks to include at least on accessory with each of their figures? Anyway the figure does have Shamrock's signature printed on his shorts, but so what? who actually cares about the pointless printed signature?
Maybe I'm being a little harsh here, it's a good sturdy figure but just lacks that something extra which makes you go "WOW"

Rowdy Roddy Piper - Powerslam Series
w/ Squeezable Bagpipes which fire a tiny missile
Removable Kilt!!
Removable Leather Jacket
Arms Attack Action (pull out string in back)

"The coolest figure I own!" - Philip Currie

As you might have guessed from the quote above I think this figure absolutely rocks.
Firstly unlike some other figures it includes tons of interesting accessories, best of which has to be his cool leather jacket which when removed reveals a painted on 'Reality Check' t-shirt. The bagpipes and the Kilt are also excellent.
Of course none of this would mean much if the actually figure was rubbish - thankfully it's not. I'm not sure if I can explain it very well but everything about the figure feels right, the body shape is perfect for Piper and isn't too buff (after all Piper is pretty old now and lacking in the muscle area). The arm attack action is amazingly quite good mainly because it's operated by a pull-out string in Piper's back. This stops any chance of activating the action by accident and thanks to the leather jacket you can easily cover up the string-puller completely.
In fact the figure has only one small fault and that's the face, which could look a bit more like the real life Roddy Piper but I can forgive such a great figure this one over sight. Overall I highly recommend you give this figure a try if you're lucky enough to be able to find it.

Stone Cold Steve Austin - Breakdown Series
The first thing you’ll notice about this figure is that Austin's face looks totally different from the Austin figure in Signature Series 4. This is definitely a good thing because the other Austin face mould makes him look like a wrinkly old man!
As for the rest of the figure it's very difficult for me to fault. The body is well proportioned and impressively detailed, most notably the cool tattoo on Austin's thigh. It also comes with a removable Austin 3:16 jacket.
Likewise the accessories are also very good. A lampshade certainly makes for a very unique weapon and the CD rack is especially good because it breaks in half. Of course the one big problem with this figure is that it must be the umpteenth Austin figure to be released in the last few years. By now most people have at least one or two Austin’s in their collection.
Overall this is a very impressive figure, which is not surprising since Jakks have had plenty of practice to perfect it. I recommend anyone who wants an Austin figure to get this one and avoid the Signature Series 4 version if possible.

Bigshow - Signature Series 4
w/ Blue Display Base

First things first this figure is absolutely HUGE.
Yes finally Jakks have bothered to create a figure to scale with the rest of their range. Bigshow's figure is very wide and thick and it towers over my other Jakks figures: Just as he should after all he is over 7ft tall!
Apart from the obvious size difference this figure also differs from most Jakks in a number of other ways. Most notably it has a more "plastic" feel to it compared to the usual "rubbery" feel of the Jakks range. Also the legs were very stiff on mine when I first got it and a good deal of force was required just to get them moving, although now they move quite easily. The face is very life like and couldn't have been done much better.
Unfortunately there are a couple of little niggles. One applies to all of the Signature Series range in that they come with no accessories what so ever which is always a little disapointing. However the other fault is very different, one of the arms of my figure is slightly out of it's joint and thus is very slack. Now this may be just a fault with this one, but I thought it worth noteing as it does give you the feeling that with too much use it could eventually get worse or even come completely loose!!
Still this is a cool figure and the arm problem is probably just my bad luck and the rest of them are probably fine.

Sting - Powerslam Series
w/ Scorpion Bat
Stand up Macho Man Target
Swinging Arm Action (twist his body to perform)

After the greatness of my first Toybiz figure this one had a lot to live up to .... unfortunately it fails on most counts to come close to Roddy Piper.
So why isn't it anywhere near as good? Well firstly the figure has one very annoying fault it's kind of lobsided - one leg is longer than the other! This makes it much more difficult to stand up right without standing it in a stupid looking position. On top of this the figure's action is absolutely useless and serves no purpose what so ever.
Another let down is the mostly rubbish accessories. Why in hell is Sting's bat shaped like a scorpion's tail when he just uses a regular bat? The Macho Man knock down stand is pointless and I've found no use for it so far. It would have been nice if Sting came with his black cloak .... but he doesn't.
Having moaned on though I have to admit the figure has it's plus points. It looks just like Sting should do and he has his up to date black & white custume/face paint on, the face is also quite life like.
Overall then this figure is disapointing but if you want a Sting figure bad enough then it does the job adequately and is better than the recent Powerslam Sting figure.
